I can't fathom why MS isn't surfing the web for the best freeware widgets and copying them wholesale. They could do so much better. I certainly doubt it's a "marketing driven" feature like Flip3D is, but none of my Linux hardware is currently powerful enough to run Compiz. I have nothing against superfluous effects -- I just don't like it when it's paired with a feature that serves no good purpose to the user, simply to elicit wows from the audience.
